This is is an excerpt from a medical malpractice case against doctors and a laser device company for injuries to a patient during laser surgery. The patient was having a growth removed from her vocal cords with a laser when it started a sudden flash fire with the oxygen causing serious throat and lung damage. The patient ultimately died after a failed lung transplant many months after the jury verdict. The trial was in Seattle with a multi-million dollar record verdict.
